I'm Back

One Baker's Journey is open once again! Thank you to everyone that has been patiently waiting for me to re-open. The time off has allowed me to help my daughter get her feet firmly planted into adulthood, as well as allowed me to work on my physical and mental health. I have also spent a lot of time investing in the knowledge of how to run my small business more efficiently, by taking classes and listening to other home bakers and small businesses. This bakery has truly been a journey for me. I hope to continue to grow in my skills and offer you many edible and beautiful treats for your special events.

The first change you may notice is that the baked goods that were offered at all times are no longer available. There are many reasons for this, but it mainly comes down to my time. While I love making baked goods for everyone, the amount of time versus the compensation wasn't working out and to avoid further burnouts, it had to be cut out. The next change is that I don't plan on doing holiday pre-orders anymore. Those were a lot of work and left me in a lot of physical pain after. Instead, I plan to focus on custom orders.

So to start the re-launch of the bakery, I am only taking orders for custom decorated sugar cookies with the hopes to add other custom products in the near future such as macarons and cupcakes. Check out the new custom cookie page for more details on how to request an order. I will only be accepting orders for 2-3 months out at a time. Please see the notice at the top of the custom cookie page for current ordering dates.

The last main change is e-mail newsletters will no longer be monthly. Instead, I plan to only send out e-mails when there are new happenings to announce and when I open up new months for order requests. Any news will always be announced to my e-mail subscribers first before I announce it on my social media channels.

And last, but certainly not least, make you keep an eye out for some new blogs. There are some changes coming to the Oregon Bakery Exemption (Cottage Food Law) that I operate under starting January 2024. I will also be sharing more of the process of the custom cookie business and other fun items as well.

Thank you again, for joining me on this journey,

Kimberly
